Update from your President - Urgent issues confronting doctors in QLD

8 May 2019

Watch the short video below on what we have been working on in the past month.

  • MBS Review Report - AMA rejects time-based fee for service model
  • Pharmacy prescribing trial
  • Voluntary Assisted Dying, Aged Care and Palliative Care in Queensland
  • 2019 AMA Queensland elections

It is with great sadness that AMA Queensland records the death of ASMOFQ President and long term AMA member, Dr Stephen Morrison. He passed away peacefully on Thursday 2 May, after valiantly fighting his long illness. We honor his legacy and mourn his loss alongside his family, friends, and colleagues. May he rest in peace.

Finally, I extend my deepest condolences to the victims of the Sri Lanka terrorist attacks, including to the family of Dr Sally Bradley, a much-respected Perth-based doctor, who along with her husband were among those who needlessly lost their lives in these senseless attacks.
