ASMOFQ continues to advocate on behalf of members to finalise MOCA 5 in a timely manner.
On Wednesday 13 February 2019, ASMOFQ met with Queensland Health to discuss the below.
Granted Right to Private Practice Agreement (GPP Agreement)
ASMOFQ has raised significant concerns with the GPP Agreement, specifically clause 10.2(e), which provides:
The Employer may terminate the Medical Officer’s Granted Private Practice agreement by giving the Medical Officer notice in writing, effective from the date specified in the notice, if (e) the Certified Agreement is terminated or replaced.
Queensland Health has confirmed that the GPP Agreements will continue. In consultation with ASMOFQ, Queensland Health is proposing to implement a Health Employment Directive (HED) to apply to SMOs who have not been issued with a new GPP Agreement when the MOCA 5 is certified.
ASMOFQ has confirmed that we will not support the termination of MOCA 4 until we are satisfied with the HED and new GPP Agreements to ensure our members are not disadvantaged.
Discussions are continuing regarding the new entitlement to Digital Recall to ensure the clause is consistent with the Director General' s Offer.
While negotiations continue with Queensland Health, it is not ASMOFQ’s intention to delay the approval of MOCA 5. ASMOFQ will take all reasonable steps to have the above items resolved in a timely manner. However if attempts are made to delay the approval of MOCA 5, we will notify our members immediately.
We will update all members when we receive responses to these important entitlements.
